From Russia with love

26 11 2007

Again it has been some time.. But this time there is a reason.

As the end of the semester draws closer, the more work we have to do. And since im very lazy, i need to do it all at once.. offcourse..

Last thursday i picked up a bunch of students leaving russia to visit us in Tallinn. Since both Martin and Marc had visitors from back home, i was bound to take care of them. I didnt plan to much in advance. But i think it turned out okay.

Thursday: We went to Kompressor, the pancake house, afterwards we went to Sct. Patricks, where the bartender suddenly knows who i am(?) and afterwards we ended up at Nimeta. Rasmus, Lukas, and I continued the party when the others went home. Ending at McD around 4am. Where Rasmus and i shared 9 burgers. Friday we was up and in the city to see some shopping centers etc. In the evening there was a birthday at the 4th floor. Today the rus-danish was courght dead. So Marc and I went to the city with out them. Just partying in the Irish Pub, Vana Maja. Great place. It was crowded full with international students, so it was great. We went home to eat toasts with Denise, german girl, and went to bed around 5.30 am.

Saturday i had “arranged” a city tour. Not me as a guide, but my tutor friends Annika and Eveliina. We saw all of tallinn’s old town, and the presidencial palace. And we had a great dinner at some place. Anders R got the upper back bone from a pig. It was really delicious. Ilsøe and Rasmus had a sausage feast (Pølse fest?). Also different.

We ended the tour at Tallinns best café, where we had a beer and a cider.

Then we headed home, to Julia’s birthday at the hostel (a french/russian girl the danish guys had brought along to see the great wonders of Tallinn) – it ended up in a lot of dirty things, before we headed off to the city again. We was at Sct. Patricks and then we had a big snowball fight at the town hall square, before we went to Nimeta.

On Sunday i saw them off to russia again. Thanks for a great weekend guys..

Then i needed to sleep ;) – This week we have had a presentation wednesday in innovation management, and a hand-in in Quality Management. Both done and overwith. Great.

Friday Daniella took me shopping – i got some new clothes. Pants, Tshirts. Great.

In the evening we went to an italien resturant to celebrate Rafaella’s birthday. Afterwards we went to the real Scotland Yard pub, Vana Maja, and Nimeta. Also a great evening. Saturday was a relax day for me. Where i mostly sleept. I was out for a few hours to get a haircut. But that was it. In the evening Marc and Denise made Lasagne. They went up to celebrate rafaella once again. I went to bed.

Sunday was also mostly about relaxing. Saw some movies. Talked to some guys. Nothing seriously :-) so great.

This comming week i have to do some more homework, and prepare 1-2 presentations. I can manage.

In general we can feel that we are entering the last weeks of our stay here.

A small “Midway” status:

For me it has been somewhat of an eyeopener. DK isnt great in any matter. No matter what you might think.

I also have gained some good friends. I hope that i can manage to stay in contact with atleasts some of them in the future aswell.

I am also looking forward to get home to see all the friends in DK again. Hopefully before i go another semester abroad. Im still looking for an internship in Asia. Afterwards i have more or less decided to go to Germany to take my final semester also abroad.

Thanks for reading so far :-)

Good luck is kind of needed for this crappy school. No one knows what they want :-)

Hehe what is your major? Business? I had to go to Kopli for most of the subjects.. that was .. oufh but dont worry, it’s difficult that you wont pass being Erasmus. I had only problems in one subject, I cannot remember the name.. something about EU Law. That was the lowest grade, and it was 2 .. so not so bad.
Have fun there!!

Its a mix between normal engineer and business administration. Called Global Management and Manufacturing.
Im really glad that i “only” have 3 courses in Kopli.
I dont know about passing the subjects, since i dont study, and my level is “only” 5th semester bachelor student, and all courses are master level courses. But i dont hope its too difficult.

Well, i dont worry too much. I just dont get out and get drunk before the exam, then i will pass..

If you passed with 2 in your worst subject, then i guess its fairly okay :-)

and btw, i allways have fun. No doubt about that.. :-)
